Being that my husband and I are both artist, there were a lot of things we wanted to do on our own for our wedding.Of course this meant more work, but it certainly saved us some money and allowed us to have a lot of fun.
This is a picture of the escort cards I made from a lot of the left over paper and ribbon I had from other projects.
It was super simple. For the name portion, I ended up printing them out on the computer. (Here they are blank so you could just hand write in the names if you wanted to).
The most efficiant way to make these is to cut everything ahead of time so you can assemble them quick.
• Cut out all the scrap paper to about 2.5 x 4.
• Have all your names cut out (business card size: 2 x 3.5)
• Use a Dove paper punch (or what ever icon you prefer) to punch varied scrap paper. It's good to have a lot of solid ones so they stand out well.
• Adhere the name portion to the scrap paper.
• Punch a hole on one end.
• Use a glue dot to adhere the Dove to the corner of the name portion • Use some decorative scissors to trim one end of the card.
• Tie 6" ribbon pieces to each for cordinating food choices. (Green=Fish, Orange=Beef, etc.)
• I used pencil to mark out what table they sat at since this is something that might need to be figured out near the end OR even have to be changed quickly.
• Use pretty pins to tack to a cork board at the reception. I covered my quark board with colored canvas and white thumb tacks.
